Cedar Rapids, Iowa Each year, the Corridor Business Journal (CBJ), scours the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City area for companies they deem the best in more than 50 different categories. For the 7th time, CBJ readers have voted ImOn Communications the “Best Local Internet Service Provider” in the Corridor.

“ImOn Communications is honored to receive recognition as the Best Local Internet Service Provider for the seventh time” said Patrice Carroll, ImOn President and CEO. “ImOn has been dedicated for the last ten years on building our network’s infrastructure in order to bring both corridor residents and businesses the most reliable high-speed Internet service. Based on this award, that focus has paid off in the eyes of our customers.”

Along with being recognized for the 7th time as the Best Local Internet Service Provider in the corridor, ImOn Communications is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Founded in 2007 in Cedar Rapids, ImOn takes pride in being a truly local company with a commitment to the communities they serve and a focus on providing reliable Internet, Cable TV and Phone services coupled with superior support throughout the corridor.

When ImOn opened its doors in 2007, their service footprint was primarily in Cedar Rapids. Despite being significantly impacted by the flood of 2008, ImOn has seen steady growth over the past 10 years, with service expansion into Marion, Hiawatha, Mount Vernon and the Iowa City & Coralville markets.

ImOn was the first to bring fiber optic technology to the Cedar Rapids area with the introduction of Business Ethernet services in 2009, followed by the introduction of fiber-to-the-home services in 2011, and gigabit service in 2015. This advanced technology brings a direct fiber connection to homes and businesses allowing more robust bandwidth speeds, clearer picture and enhanced voice quality.  Residential customers in portions of Cedar Rapids, Marion and Hiawatha have access to up to 1Gig (1,000Mbps) of Internet download speeds while businesses in the corridor can experience data speeds up to 10Gig. Since 2014, ImOn has also provided free community Wi-Fi service in downtown Cedar Rapids, at the McGrath Amphitheatre and Newbo City Market, various parks in Hiawatha, and in the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena.

“We are proud to be the preferred local communications provider in the corridor for the past 10 years,” said Mrs. Carroll “and look forward to what the next decade brings for ImOn and the communities we serve.”

Results from the “Best of the Corridor” survey were featured in the July 10th Corridor Business Journal.
